Football, Year 5 and 6

Our Football Club for Years 5 and 6 takes place on a Monday from 3:15pm – 4:15pm and is run by Mr Walsh and Mr Lee-Hindle.

For the first few weeks we will be on the grassed area on the schools grounds and then we will have the option of the 3G pitches at Guinea Gap Sports Centre. When we start to use the 3G pitches, there should not be any reason to cancel due to bad weather.

Children will need appropriate kit (no school uniform allowed) and because some children wear football boots with studs, we would advise all children to wear shin-pads also.

The club is designed to improve the skills of the children and introduce them to playing in competitive games. The school teams will be chosen from the children in the club so it is very important that they attend every week, unless there is a good reason. Those who attend regularly will then be given a place in our Riverside Premier League (R.P.L.). This is at the same time on a Monday and gives them the opportunity to be part of a team and do their best in a competitive, sporting and enjoyable League.

Well done to the school football team who reached the final stages of this competition after winning their group at Bebington Sports College. They played well in the final night but didn't manage to win the event, finishing third in a very strong section of the draw.
